Review: Halo (Halo #1) by Alexandra Adornetto

"Three angles are sent by Heaven to bring good to a world falling under the influence of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, the youngest and most human. They work hard to conceal their luminous glow, their superhuman powers, and their wings. Then Bethany meets Xavier Woods, and they are unable to resist their attractions to each other. But the angles' mission is urgent, and dark forces are threatening. Will love ruin Bethany or save her?"
P
lot: I liked the whole idea of angels coming to save the human race. There were a lot of comments saying how it was "too religious" but if you're expecting it like I was, it honestly isn't any more religious than any other book about angles and Heaven. They definitely mention it, but it's not an overload.
Characters: I liked all three angles of course, but I really liked Xavier. He seemed to just always be there when she needed him. He was so loyal and their relationship was actually really sweet.
Cover: I have to say, that's what drew me in the first place. I like how it's a silhouette and the sun just makes it seem so pretty.
Overall Rating: I think I'm going to give this a 2/4. It was a good read, but it took me forever to read it. If you can get to the end half of it (around when Jake comes in) then it gets more interesting, but I actually started this a long time ago, then put it down. It was worth it for me, but it's not as though I'm forcing my friends to read it.
Sweet Daydreams,
Brooke

  1. Hola from your 200th follower! Love the review! I actually won an ARC of Hades before in a giveaway but was scared to even read the first book after some negative reviews. I might try some pages of Halo...but you say it might be a long read...IDK..just gonna try...

  3. Roshini-
Like I said, it's a long read if you make it long. If you just go through the first little bit, it gets pretty interesting.

  4. Nice review, I like the cover too. It would be the reason I would pick it up off the shelf. I do dread when a book takes me a long time to finish.
