Wanted Wedensdays: The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

Hey, readers! I haven't been here for two weeks I think. (Well, on Wanted Wedensdays...) But, I'm back and here to share my newest obsession. Yes, I am talking about The Darkest Powers series. If you've been with me since the start, you know I've been obsessing about this series since I saw it on the shelf at the library. Of course I couldn't get it because bookaholic Alisha had five books in my arms already. I told myself I would get the first book after I finished the stack of books I got, but sad to say, it was no longer there. Every time I would see it in my school's library or somewhere else, I was always reading another book and couldn't grab it when I wanted.

Here is a quick synopsis of The Summoning:
After years of frequent moves following her mother’s death, Chloe Saunders’s life is finally settling down. She is attending art school, pursuing her dreams of becoming a director, making friends, meeting boys. Her biggest concern is that she’s not developing as fast as her friends are. But when puberty does hit, it brings more than hormone surges. Chloe starts seeing ghosts–everywhere, demanding her attention. After she suffers a breakdown, her devoted aunt Lauren gets her into a highly recommended group home.

At first, Lyle House seems a pretty okay place, except for Chloe’s small problem of fearing she might be facing a lifetime of mental illness. But as she gradually gets to know the other kids at the home–charming Simon and his ominous, unsmiling brother Derek, obnoxious Tori, and Rae, who has a “thing” for fire–Chloe begins to realize that there is something that binds them all together, and it isn’t your usual “problem kid” behaviour. And together they discover that Lyle House is not your usual group home either… Source

So, finally with some orange juice in hand, I was scrowling around looking for ANY Darkest Powers giveaways, but came up with none. After I finished FALLEN and Blue Bloods, you will definitely see me with The Summoning next to my orange juice!

The Gathering will be out in April, 2011! IF anybody read this series or just The Summoning so far, tell me how it was!

Peace and Fangs,
Alisha
