Twilight Paradies (Books)

You all may have just noticed...a tiny bit, that I am...a TwiHard. There I said it! But, because of that reason, you must know that my Eclipse high is starting to dwindle, sadly. I need some more Twilight ecstasy to keep me sane until Breaking Dawn Part Eins (it's German for one)! I have joined Goodreads (which please do friend me!) and one time, I was searching for Twilight books to click on as "read" or "to-read" (like the Twilight Graphic Novel at one point). I came upon one book though that wasn't written by the talented Stephenie Meyer, but by The Harvard Lampoon. Of course, I had no clue who the heck they were, so I looked them up and that they are "an undergraduate humor publication and social organization founded in 1876 at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts." (Thank you, Wikipedia.) So, they have to be smart and witty...right? Eh, anyways, they wrote a book parody of Twilight called Nightlight: A Parody. The book released November 9, 2009 and sold at a pretty nice number.

Here is the synopsis of the parody:
About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.

And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight.
Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events–Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!–Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive?
Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom, Nightlight is the uproarious tale of a vampire-obsessed girl, looking for love in all the wrong places. Amazon

It looks somewhat funny, I'm not sure if I will be laughing out of my socks but I will definitely be reading it to see what that is all about. Hopefully, it does live up to what the reviewers and how highly the Lampoon is put up to be. I love how they changed the names to like opposite of the original name. Swan to Goose and Forks to Switchblade, funny funny. Let me know what you think of this little parody as well and if you would check it out.

P.S. I think that there will be more books by Stephfordy Mayo in the TwiShite Saga because on the cover it said that New Moan will be the first in the Saga. So, I will be following this Saga closely!

TwiLite

Love between a teenage girl and a vampire can be a beautiful thing. Then again, it can get a little ugly. Just ask Stella Crow. Stella is a clumsy but otherwise ordinary girl whose life takes a radical turn the moment she meets Edweird. Though perfect on the outside, Edweird Sullen is remarkably unrefined on the inside. He also happens to be a one hundred year old vampire, trapped in the body of a teenage boy, who has yet to finish high school. Nonetheless, Stella is unconditionally smitten with him. But not everything is rosy in this gloomiest of towns. Edweird's enemies have sworn to put a tragic end to their romance. Yesterday, I was surfing YouTube and saw something on the sidebar that looked like a Twilight parody vid, of course I didn't click on it like a bad TwiHard because I was too busy but when I got on to Facebook and saw that Trixie and Tess posted the same video on their Facebook, I clicked on to and saw the FIRST EVER Twilight parody....MOVIE! I squeed loudly in my chair and watched the thing over and over. Of course I HAD to show it to my sister, Green Day Girl, who is in absolute anti-TwiHard but puts up with it for me and get a glimpse at Taylor's abs. She even said she had to go see it! It comes out August 18th and is called Vampires Suck! Check it out here:
