Review: Skinwalkers (2006)

Two packs of werewolves, divided by principles are signaled by the moon of the coming of an ancient prophecy. A small boy named Timothy approaches his 13th birthday, unaware this marks the time of his transformation. Timothy has been raised by his mother Rachel, his grandmother, his Uncle Jonas, his cousin Katherine and her boyfriend, Adam. Rachel and her son Timothy have been unaware that the rest of the family are good werewolves that have guarded Timothy since birth. They know that Timothy is a half blood, and will control the destiny of the family. But they also know that Timothy's power will put him in danger, for there are other werewolves that revel and embrace their blood-lust that are prepared to kill to preserve their way of life. These werewolves, led by Varek, Zo and Sonya, are hell bent on finding Timothy...their kin.

I have watched this movie countless times and I love it over and over and over! It is rated R though and does have nudity. So, no young or immature viewers! I love this movie because of the complex movie timeline and how it is a human mother taking care of the little boy and not another werewolf. It's not like she knows and is keeping it from him, it's a completely honest relationship between them. The mother is played by Rhona Mitra and the poor boy is played by Matthew Knight.

They both are incredible in this movie and give new meaning to mother-son relationships. The bad guys are truly bad guys with the intent that this how they really are supposed to act. Blood-crazy werewolves that hate being in human form

The leader of the "bad" werewolf pack is Varek who is played by Jason Behr, he's the guy who played Jack Frost in Frost. He is absolutely great for this character...not to mention cute. At first I didn't think he would be that good of a bad guy seeing as on he was on Happily Even After, 7th Heaven, and The Way but he did a very greast job at playing Varek and I give him two thumbs up. I do recommend seeing this movie it is very good and gives the right amount of gore and thriller to keep you not grossed out and not scared of your closet for two weeks. They give great detail into the background as to why they want the boy, why he's different, and so on. James Issac did the best job with this movie, I truly don't think anyone would have made it any better. And they don't spend the whole time having guys without shirts and constant changing into werewolves they show them in human form because most of them hate it and go crazy because they only turn on full moons. So its not like every five minutes a werewolf pops out.

The werewolves are...well, to be honest. Horrible! it was probably the worst I've ever seen since Teen Wolf Too:

And, I don't want to hear anything saying that it wasn't pssible because if Underworld's werewolves could be that "AH"-mazing, then you guys could of done it too. Other than the atrocious werewolf imaging it's a great movie and I recommend it. (The humans, not the werewolves! They're weird and akward.)

Review: Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga #4) by Stephenie Meyer

The famous and world wide known Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. If you've been leaving under a rock, the story consists of Bella Swan marrying her one and only, Edward Cullen, and having a series of situations to go through. Like pregnancy, dealing with the Volturi and getting mad at Jacob...for imprinting. Over this Christmas, I recieved the whole series.

So during my winter break, I decided to reread Breaking Dawn...to see small details I missed. As I started reading it, I couldn't help but notice how whiny Bella was with her new gift. Okay yes it was extravigent for a car in Forks but still that Mercedes was too gorgeous to pass up. How can you whine over something like this?!:

The only whining that should be down is if it got stolen or taken away! How can you whine over having to drive that^^. Pitiful. As I was reading about the wedding, Bella kept whining and whining and whining. I'm sorry but I truly think that marrying Edward Cullen isn't that bad! It's not like your at a shot gun wedding held up against your will, if it was truly that big of a deal...she could of said a simple 'no'. But nooo! leaving Edward would crush her! Then how about enjoy the stupid wedding, it means one: you'll be a vampire that much sooner, two: you'll be able to get it on with your husband who is EDWARD CULLEN and three: you'll be with that beautiful dude for the rest of eternity! I would be the happiest person in the world if I was marrying my one and only and he wanted me! And, also I wouldn't get so down on myself. A vampire and werewolf want her. I'd be pretty arrogant if I was Bella. There were a few things I was unhappy with like the fact that there was no fiht. Okay, Steph, I get someone would have to die (and someone did anyways!) but why not create a fight. it would have been awesome to see Bella work her shield and having all the powers work against each other. And no one has to die...just be damaged. I don't know. The book is amazing with the detail but sometimes I think it could have used a little less detail because I was more focused on what color the trees were while Bella ran around as a newborn than why she was heading towards a human. Overall, I loved the book it has been one of my favorites so far! I truly hope they make it into a movie just hope that KStew will tune down the whiniess because she has done that throughout Twilight, New Moon, and I know Eclipse. She's more a deep in thought actress than a whiner. So, I loved Breaking Dawn and I do think everyone should read it no matter how much you don't like the Twilight saga. So A+, Stephenie Meyer!
